Sick and Tired.

We have been struck down by sickness the last week and a half. Jackson had strep throat and a double ear infection and wouldn’t you know it I got influenza.(Which if you haven’t had it, it is the worst thing EVER).  If you didn’t already know this, having a sick child is one of the hardest things on the planet. Until, of course you are so sick you can’t get out of bed and then that said child climbs up on bed with you. It is heartbreaking. He came running into our bedroom after daycare the other day and crawled in bed with me for a good hour. (This is very unlike him to sit for that length of time) And at one point he grabbed my face in his little hands and said “look at me” as he pulled my face towards him and said “I will always be here.”  Dang kid. You don’t need to make your mom cry while she is sick. But what a sweet little boy he is. He has done a very good job taking care of me. It is actually quite funny, we take our medicine together and neither one of us likes the medicine (mine tastes TERRIBLE) but we always “cheers” each other and down our medicine together. I am so looking forward to feeling better. Hopefully I will be back at it soon.

But in the meantime, I know I have mentioned to you all before that I have been doing some extra writing for adoption.com. Well, good news, some of my articles are up and running. Let me first tell you that I never in my wildest dreams thought I would see my name in print and it is really weird and exciting at the same time. You can check them out here, here, or here. If they don’t take you directly to my article, search the site for Jessica H.  There are more articles to come and I will keep posting them as I write them and as they get published!

Also, for doing some other additional work for adoption.com, I received this incredible necklace from adoptiongifts.com. If you know anyone who has been touched by adoption, check out these really cool gift ideas. I absolutely love this necklace.

Lastly, thank you. Thank you to all of my followers out there. I never would have started this blog if my husband wouldn’t have encouraged me to do so but I wouldn’t have been keeping up with it if it wasn’t for my readers. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your precious days to read what is going on in our lives. It truly means the world to me.

And somehow I had the strength to make my mom’s homemade noodles while I was sick. And let me tell you, this was no small task because every time I try to make anything like my mom it never turns out. But much to my surprise, they turned out and where just what I needed. They only would have been better if my mom made them because that would mean they would have came for a visit! But good thing they didn’t because our house is just full of germs!!

Oh, and we booked our hotel room stay with Heather and her family in March. Can’t wait to share our experience with you guys. Until then, I am going back to bed and hoping I am better soon. Much love to you all.
